June 1, 2019 Sheriff Department did away with the placard used to return to the island. (The letters from both St Lucie and Martin County describing the return process are on the PC website on this page.)
Currently two (2) pieces of identification is required once return to the island is allowed.
The two documents may be Government issued ID plus utility bill, tax statement, or insurance statement.
Workers on the island may have their employer provide on letter-head their purpose for entering the island They must also have government ID. Employers may also call 772-871-5303 to add the employee to a list allowing reentry to the island.
