New Policies for condo associations access to island from Martin County in case of Weather Closing

New policy for access the Island after the Causeway has been closed due a hurricane or weather event. The new policy is for the building Manager or president is to send an email to Capt. Immordino  of the Martin County Sheriffs Office at  [email protected], and provide him with the names and positions of the people each building wants to have early access to the Island to see if there is damage at their building and if it is safe to inhabit.

The Sheriffs Office will compile a list of people who will be granted access to the Island before it is opened to the public. The old policy of having a letter from a building along with showing ID is no longer valid. The Sheriff will have his own list of people who can come on the island, if a person is not on the sheriffs list they will not be granted access.
