BUILDING & DEVELOPMENT


The Building & Development Committee closely follows Hutchinson Island developer projects as they work through the various SLC departments, with attention to any requests for special considerations or zoning variances to (Hutchinson Island Residential District) HIRD. Of particular concern lately has been requests for height variances.

The HIRD height requirements for the properties listed on the document below are:
  • East of A1A – Regency south to MC line Zone A (up to 125’) subject to setback and other requirements.
  • West of A1A and East of A1A between Dune Walk Condominiums south to Regency Zone B (35’).
As part of its work, the Committee produces a table describing the current status of each developer project between the
​FPL Power Plant and the Martin County line. Follow this link to review the current Table.

The President’s Council, working together, seeks to maintain and enhance the lives of the owners and residents of Hutchinson Island. President’s Council serves St Lucie County, Hutchinson Island resident concerns, such as beach & dune, island safety & beautification, roads, future development and County services affecting us.
